With property prices where they are, saving a deposit can be one of the biggest challenges for first-time buyers.

The good news is that you don't necessarily need a huge deposit to get started.

One of the first questions I’m asked when speaking to someone who is thinking about buying a home is:

“How much can I actually borrow?”

Having missed payments, defaulted on a credit agreement or had other financial difficulties doesn't automatically mean you can't get a mortgage.
